Erik on fibromyalgia and infrared products

Erik is a chronic pain patient with fibromyalgia and uses both a Liroma infrared lamp with a double head and a TDP lamp. He experiences the infrared lamp as warm and deeply relaxing, which helps reduce muscle spasms; the two heads can be aimed separately and adjusted to ten intensity levels. The TDP lamp is a heating element with a mineral disc, has two settings and a timer of 30, 60 or 90 minutes, and also provides him with localized pain relief that he cannot explain himself. Below, you can read his story in his own words.

Some time ago, a customer contacted us. For convenience, I will call the customer Erik, because he wishes to remain anonymous (on the website). Erik is a chronic pain patient and has undergone a long search for the right products for his pain complaints. Erik found us and was so enthusiastic about the products that he wanted to do something for us, but also for you.

By writing about his experience, he hopes to help others. As someone with extensive personal experience, Erik would like to talk about his positive experiences with all kinds of pain relief therapies and the effects he has experienced from TDP and infrared lamps.

Erik says
‘’As a patient with multiple chronic pain conditions, I have had decades of experience with the most diverse forms of both conservative (conventional) and progressive (alternative) pain relief. In addition to being a fibromyalgia patient (with, among other things, severe pain in the muscles and connective tissue throughout my body), I suffer from various inoperable deformities in my neck, differing in nature, severity and extent. These cause both severe local pain and radiating pain in my neck, shoulders, arms, hands and fingers. Together, these are also referred to as a generalized pain syndrome.

People with serious pain complaints can ask Liroma to arrange a telephone call with me so they can ask me questions about my decades of experience with the most diverse forms of pain relief therapy and with the infrared and TDP lamps from, among others, Liroma.

I have a large rectangular halogen infrared lamp from Philips, and from Liroma I have an “Infrared lamp Double Head - 507”. The Liroma lamp has two highly adjustable, separately aimable infrared lamps that can be directed at the painful area or areas and, using the included remote control, can also be individually adjusted for heat intensity across ten levels. I experience the effect of the type of infrared light used by the Liroma lamp as more powerful than that of the Philips halogen infrared lamp, on which nothing can be adjusted apart from the timer. The Liroma lamps have a warm and deeply relaxing effect on my muscles, causing them to spasm less and produce fewer pain complaints.

The head of a TDP lamp with the grille and the mineral disc beside it

To begin with, the “TDP lamp” is not actually a lamp because it does not emit light. In fact, it is a heating element with a mineral disc that works according to Moxa therapy from the mysterious ancient Chinese medical tradition. This TDP lamp emits considerable local heat, can be adjusted to two heat-intensity settings, and has a timer of 30, 60 or 90 minutes.

Compared with infrared lamps, TDP lamps have a very important additional effect in the form of a completely unexpected but extremely welcome, powerful local pain relief for me. Because, in addition to relieving pain through muscle relaxation caused by the heat, this TDP lamp provides me with considerable additional local pain relief. This is only comparable to local lidocaine anesthetic injections in the muscles and connective tissues concerned. It sounds unbelievable, and it is! For apart from all kinds of invasive pain intervention treatments performed by my anesthesiologist and pain specialist in the operating room, TDP lamps have a considerable pain-relieving effect. I cannot explain scientifically why this is, but after my long-term experience with them, the fact that they lead to a considerable reduction in my complaints is absolutely certain for me.’’
