It started with a problem that would not go away

In 2018 Mike had persistent acne. He tried everything; nothing helped enough. His mother pointed him towards red light therapy, and after months of working it out and trying things for himself, one question remained: why is this so hard to get hold of in the Netherlands, and so poorly substantiated?

That question became Liroma. Eight years on, Mike is still hands-on: he chooses the LEDs, he goes along to the factory and he signs the declaration of conformity.

We go there ourselves

Anyone can buy in a panel and put their own logo on it. We fly out to the factory where our panels are built, stand at the production line and bring the first units back to Duiven to measure them here.

That is why the CE certificates are in Liroma's name and not a supplier's: we are the ones responsible for what is in the box.

We see the line running

Which LEDs go in, how they are soldered and how the housing is closed. Not on a spec sheet, but with our own eyes.

Every pre-production panel goes through the measurement set-up

Before a single unit is ordered. Anything that fails there does not go into production.

We re-measure in Duiven

Back in Duiven, every wavelength goes through a calibrated meter. We publish those measurements, along with the CE certificates in Liroma's name.

How a Liroma is made

From question to panel

Three steps that determine what ends up in the box.

01Design

We decide which wavelengths go in and how the panel is put together. Not the factory — we do.

02Measure

Every LED is measured spectrally on its own, and we measure the irradiance ourselves with calibrated equipment.

03Certify

CE approval runs through an external test house, under the Low Voltage Directive and the EMC Directive. The certificates are in Liroma's name.

From garage to Gen5

From self-built prototypes in his parents' garage to our own premises with a showroom in Duiven.

2018

The beginning: meet Mike!

Meet Mike, the founder of Liroma. Back in 2018, Mike was dealing with persistent skin problems, including acne. He tried various solutions, but nothing really gave him the result he was looking for.

In the end it was his mother who gave him the idea of trying red light therapy. The technology was already being used for skin improvement and cell repair. After looking into it further and experiencing positive changes himself, Mike had the idea of making red light therapy more accessible to others. That moment was the start of Liroma.

2020

The first prototypes

After extensive research, the first red light therapy prototypes were developed. They were tested from the garage of Mike's parents. During this period everything revolved around testing, improving and learning how the technology could best be applied. What began as an experiment slowly grew into a serious project.

2021

The first premises of our own

With interest in red light therapy growing, the garage soon became too small. In 2021 Liroma moved into its first premises of its own, with storage space and a small office. It was an important step: from a project run from home to a real business.

2023

Nationwide recognition and strong growth

In 2023 Liroma grew faster than ever. As red light therapy became more widely known in the Netherlands, more and more people discovered its benefits for the skin, recovery and general health. Demand for Liroma panels rose sharply as a result.

2024

Expansion into Europe and the PrimeFORCE G4 series

In 2024 Liroma took two steps at once. Sales expanded into several European countries, and a new generation of panels arrived: the PrimeFORCE G4 series.

That international growth made the company bigger again. More space was needed for storage, logistics and offices, so Liroma moved to larger premises.

2026

The PrimeFORCE Gen5 series

At the end of 2026 Liroma switched to the PrimeFORCE Gen5 series. These panels use dual-chip LEDs and eight wavelengths: 630, 650, 660, 670, 810, 830, 850 and 1060 nm. Where the previous generation made do with fewer wavelengths, the Gen5 covers both the skin and deeper tissue.

What else changed is less visible but just as important: every wavelength is measured, and we publish those measurements along with the CE certificates in Liroma's name. That makes this the most thoroughly measured series we have built so far.
