In short: A red light panel is not a heat lamp: it works with LEDs at defined wavelengths in the red and near-infrared range, without noticeable heat, and you choose the size based on the area you want to treat. The Liroma PrimeFORCE Elite Gen5 was measured by LightLab International (USA) with a spectroradiometer on 15 October 2026: 66.6 mW/cm² at the centre at 15 cm, 87% of the surface above 20 mW/cm² and all eight wavelengths within 7 nm of their nominal value. You can try every Liroma panel at home for 60 days.

How large an area do you want to treat?
All PrimeFORCE panels have 8 wavelengths, the Portable Prime has 6. The difference is how much you treat in a single session.
Small: targeted at one zone
The Portable Prime and the Compact treat one spot at a time. Ideal if your complaint sits in one place, or if you want to try it out first.
Portable Prime · For on the go€295,00
€205,00
For one spot at a time: a knee, elbow, wrist or your neck. Six wavelengths instead of eight.

Difference
Red light panel or heat lamp: what is the difference?
Many people think of a “red light lamp” as the classic infrared heat lamp: an incandescent bulb with red glass that mainly gives off heat. A red light panel works differently.
| Red light panel (LED) | Infrared heat lamp | |
|---|---|---|
| Light source | LEDs with defined wavelengths | incandescent bulb with red filter |
| Wavelengths | e.g. 630 to 1060 nm, specifically selected | broad spectrum, mostly given off as heat |
| Heat | barely noticeable | distinctly warm |
| Area covered | up to the whole body, depending on size | usually a small zone |
| Typical use | back, joints, muscles, skin, recovery | local heat |
Both have their place. If you want to work specifically with red and near-infrared light, choose a panel. If you are mainly looking for heat, a heat lamp will serve you well. Liroma offers both: red light panels and infrared heat lamps.

66.6 mW/cm² at 15 cm
The Liroma PrimeFORCE Elite Gen5 was measured on 15 October 2026 by LightLab International in Allentown (USA), a laboratory accredited under NVLAP (ISO/IEC 17025), report LLIA003091-001. LightLab measured 481 points across a surface of 30 x 91 cm on the Liroma PrimeFORCE Elite Gen5.
A solar meter is calibrated for sunlight and reads too high with LED light; that is why Liroma always states the lab value.
- 49.7 mW/cm² average across the surface
- 87% of the surface above 20 mW/cm²
- 8 wavelengths, confirmed by the lab
- 138.4 W radiant power on the measuring surface

Lab measurement of the Liroma PrimeFORCE Elite Gen5: LightLab International, report LLIA003091-001, 15 October 2026. At 45 cm the handheld spectrometer measures less than the lab; Liroma publishes both values unchanged.

Spectrometer values without a published lab report are manufacturer claims or the manufacturer's own measurements and cannot be compared directly with an independent lab measurement such as that of the Liroma PrimeFORCE Elite Gen5. Studies mostly use values between 20 and 100 mW/cm²; more important than the peak is that the whole surface receives enough light.
Competitor data according to their websites (heilys.de/pages/technologie, mitolight.com/mito-light-expert-5-0, norahlux.red/product/norahlux-optimus300), accessed on 29 October 2026. Product data may change.
Pros and cons
To be fair
Other brands
Where other brands are stronger
- heilys gives a 5-year warranty on the Gen300; Liroma gives 3 years.
- heilys and MITO LIGHT state a higher spectrometer value than Liroma. These are manufacturer claims, not independent lab measurements.
Liroma
Where Liroma makes the difference
- In this comparison, Liroma is the only brand with a published report from an independent, accredited lab (ISO/IEC 17025): LightLab International, report LLIA003091-001 for the Liroma PrimeFORCE Elite Gen5.
- Eight wavelengths, confirmed by the lab, with the number of chips per wavelength stated in the specifications.
- CE certificates in Liroma's name, with an office and showroom in Duiven.
- 60-day trial, even after use: just over eight weeks to find out whether a daily session really fits into your week, in busy weeks and on days when you don't feel like it. If the size isn't right, you can exchange it free of charge for another model.
- The Liroma PrimeFORCE Elite Gen5 comes with a rolling floor stand, safety goggles, a remote control and a door mount in the box.

Frequently asked questions
Is a bigger panel always better?
No. A bigger panel treats more zones at once, so you are done faster. If your complaint sits in one place, a small panel does exactly the same there. The intensity at 15 cm is close together for the Liroma PrimeFORCE Compact, Advanced, Elite and Max, between 204 and 207 mW/cm² (solar meter, own measurement). Only the Liroma PrimeFORCE Ultra is lower, at 179 mW/cm² (solar meter, own measurement), because the light is spread across a much larger area.
What if I have several complaints?
Then the treatment area matters more than anything else. With a small panel you treat zone by zone, so your session time grows with every complaint you add. From the Elite onwards you do your whole back in one go; with a whole-body panel you do all zones at once.
Can I expand to a larger treatment area later?
The Advanced and the Elite can be coupled together with a mounting bracket to form one larger area. The connector can be ordered separately.
How long does a session take?
Ten to fifteen minutes per body area per day, at a distance of 30 to 50 cm. Longer than twenty minutes usually adds nothing, because your cells can only absorb a limited amount of light per session. A short session every day works better than an occasional long one.
What distance should I keep?
30 to 50 cm. The light comes out at an angle of 30 degrees: closer is more intense over a smaller area, further away spreads it across a larger one.
I am not looking for a panel, but a mask or an infrared lamp
This page is about the PrimeFORCE panels, which you choose based on the size of the area you want to treat. For your face, we have the GLOW LED mask, and for localized heat, the infrared lamps. They work differently, so you choose them based on other factors.
See all productsWhy does a solar meter show higher values than a lab?
A solar meter is calibrated for the broad spectrum of sunlight. With LED light, which has a few narrow wavelengths, it measures far too high. For the Liroma PrimeFORCE Elite Gen5, the solar meter showed 207 mW/cm² and the LightLab spectroradiometer 66.6 mW/cm² at the same distance. So only compare panels using values for which the meter and the distance are stated.
Why do spectrometer values differ between manufacturers?
A spectrometer value only means something if you know who measured it, with which device, at what distance and at how many points. Many claims give only a number, without a measurement protocol and without a report. A lab measures the whole surface with a calibrated spectroradiometer. For the Liroma PrimeFORCE Elite Gen5, LightLab International measured 481 points and produced a report with a number and date that anyone can read. For every value, ask: who measured it, with which device, at how many points, and can I see the report?
What irradiance makes sense?
Studies on red and near-infrared light often use values between 20 and 100 mW/cm². More important than the highest possible peak value is that the whole treated area gets enough light. With the Liroma PrimeFORCE Elite Gen5, 87% of the measured surface is above 20 mW/cm² at 15 cm (LightLab, spectroradiometer).
Can I try the panel at home?
Yes. You can try any Liroma panel at home for 60 days. After your purchase you also receive a free usage plan, tailored to the area you want to treat. All PrimeFORCE panels come with a 3-year warranty.
Where does Liroma come from?
Liroma is a Dutch company with its head office and showroom in Duiven. We have specialised in light therapy for home use for seven years and deliver to eleven European countries. The CE certificates of the PrimeFORCE series are issued to Liroma as the manufacturer.
